It was raining outside today but still about the same temperature, 7 degrees, I swear the biggest swing we have seen is up to 9 degrees.
So we drove from the one walled city to two others (Dinkelsbuehl and Nordlindgen) today along the Romaric road. Both cities had walls around and random towers along the wall. The big difference from Rothenburg is that they didn't seem like they were on a hill.
Driving around so much today really came to realize the houses are mostly free standing even if the space is only about 2 feet in some places.
The other noticeable thing about the houses is no two are the same color and the colors are vary vibrant and perfect. Their shutters are also always painted nicely and almost every window has an old style lace curtin with the cutest christmas statues or small scenes. We only saw one house that wasn't up to par. Wonder if they have an HOA that tells them they have to paint every year and what color they must be.
Then their is the size, so in the last town the building looked like a house but it had 10 floors, most small house have at least 2 if not 3 floors. Very different from what I'm use to in Europe, these places seem huge.
We hit a few more Christmas markets. I tried the Kinderpunch this time, it was like drinking warm apple pie. So this evening j went back to the mulled wine and got this cool mug.
We had lunch in a restaurant where the proprietor didn't speak English but was pleasant and the food was good, google translate to the rescue on deciphering the menu.
We made it to Munich and decided to hit the Tollwood winter festival. I'd describe it a hippie heaven. Ecco friendly products and food, recycled products but they still had mulled wine and other standard things we have seen. The art was rather unique, there was a bottle tree, sign flower and some off todum poles.
