It is amazing how many rocks the land has. These vines were at the start of our walk an 8km stroll to breakfast. We also were swarmed by the paparazzi one gentleman from Italy asked Quinn to be in a picture. Saying a picture of the youngest and oldest. Then when we were sitting down resting a Venezuelan lady wanted a picture with the two of us. Finally the initial guy wanted a picture with son and mother. So I got a piece of the action.
There wasn't much shade today, but it was stormy looking out so it was a very pleasant walk. Mostly gentle rolling hills. You can see the grapes starting to form.
Here is another memorial along the way. I find there differences very cool.
There was a battle outside town that had a little memorial. Pilgrim and the Giant. 9 foot tall giant from the area challenged Roldand a Frenchman to a fight. They say he was the strongest Christian in the area because after 2 days of combat he defeated the giant.
We walked thru one large town called Najera. Note the little yellow arrow in the corner. This is your friend along the way. Get to an intersection and look for a shell or arrow. Then go that way.
This next picture reminds me of the movie Cars with his headlights. There were a lot of people working the fields training the vines onto the supports or pruning and cutting leaves and branches. Looks like a lot of work.
We walked right by this guy. He was on the side of the road, I waited for Quinn to walk past before showing him. Not sure if he was dead or sleeping. Didn't want to ask.
Finally made it into our destination. A small town with a nice Albergue. It's 7 Euros each and you get a small isolated two bedroom. Very nice. The patio has a fountain to dip your feet and chairs to lounge around in.
Tomorrow we get to Grañón, about 22 km to go. Plan is to rest a day but we will see. It's suppose to thunderstorm tomorrow, should be fun.
