Stage 6 : Puente La Reina to Estella

We started our day at around 8am.  As we leave town we cross a medieval bridge and pass a cross.  There have been a number of crosses all along the way, all very unique and not fancy.

We did hit a climb once out a little ways.  No shade today but e clouds came in and out.  Some nice views from he top.

The next town had this amazing grape vine.  It went up two stories.

This door caught my eye.  Very fancy metal work.  I missed taking a picture of he next door it had the same metal work but a new door.

A lot more viniards today.

One town was litteraly all on a hill, that includes the houses.

Some of the trek today was on an old roman road.  It wasn't in very good shape don't think they have done any maintanence for centuries.

We crossed under the highway a number of times today.  The not so pretty side of the hike.

Saw some fun flowers today.

As we hike it's nice passing thru the many towns, Quinn especially loves getting snacks.  Chocolate bars and ice cream help with the walking.

We checked into an albergue tonight, 16 bunk beds in our room tonight.  We went to a mass at the local church and sat in a little side alcove for the mass.  It was very intimate, quite a bit different experience.  Not so sure the priest however was very interested in the fact pilgrims were present.

Tomorrow we have 21.1km with and ascent of 370m.  But we also get to see the wine fountain!

I hope no comments about the knee means it has settled into a maintenance mode? Glad to see you are able to keep going. What a cool thing that you get such an intimate understanding of the countryside and religious life of the people as you go.
